Meet the Founder

Hi, I am Shazia, the Founder of Excellence Through People. 

There are many things that bring me joy in life and each one centres around people. Therefore, it was no surprise to me that I find myself as the founder of a business that focuses on the business of people. After all, we are the world, right? And, we certainly are the key ingredient in any organisation be it start-up, scale-up, established, mirco, small, medium or enterprise! 

Indeed, people are the critical ingredient to delivering excellence and so I have named my independent consultancy just that - Excellence Through People.

Excellence Through People is all about human resources. Our intention is to ensure we transfer and integrate HR solutions into your business that positively nourish your team so that they nourish your business.

 Of course, a joy full purpose is amplified when it is underpinned by education, learning and experience, so here’s a bit about my own career path and why I am likely to bring the right strategies, deployment and energy to your people policies, procedures, and progress. 

I’ve notched more than 20 years in HR, spanning industries such as broadcasting & media, luxury fashion, pharmaceuticals, hospitality, as well as renewable energy. During these two decades I have gathered a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by businesses of all shapes and sizes. I have led HR initiatives including high-volume recruitment, researched, set, and raised employee engagement & retention benchmarks, and managed various change programmes, including acquisitions, head-office re-locations, skill-led & volume-driven restructures, as well as mindful redundancy action.

In the renewable energy sector specifically, I have built HR functions from the ground up, delivering both operational solutions and strategic direction to support the development of multi-million-pound projects. These includes solar power plants and nation-wide EV charging infrastructure. I remain deeply passionate about this sector. Climate change is one of the most urgent challenges of our time, and I am eager to support businesses committed to addressing these challenges on every level and at every stage of doing business.

Academically, I hold a BA with Honours in Business Studies, a CIPD Level 7 Diploma in Personnel Management, and a CMI Level 7 Certificate in Management & Leadership. These qualifications, combined with my hands-on experience and honed purpose allow me to guide teams in our collective delivery of HR solutions that are practical, strategically sound, and have proven transformational impact.

I must add that I am particularly energised in the role of a Trusted People Lead and Advisor to CEOs and senior leadership teams as together we amplify Excellence Through People.
